Founder of Outdoor Adventure Girls, Sophie, is a 30-year-old adventure enthusiast, with a passion for the great outdoors and inspiring women to travel the world. In 2020 she set up Outdoor Adventure Girls to provide a safe and inclusive environment for women to connect, get outdoors and push themselves out of their comfort zone. She is passionate about challenging the lack of representation of women in the outdoor space and aims to put 10 more women into positions of leadership in the outdoor industry by the end of 2024. She loves hiking, wild swimming and paddleboarding and is a trained Hill and Moorland Leader, Fitness Instructor and Open Water Lifeguard. Fun fact? I hate being cold!
Hi, my name’s Amy and I’ve been a member of OAG for around two years now. I found this group when I moved to a new area and didn’t really know anyone who liked being outdoors and I have made so many friends and taken part in some amazing experiences with this group. Anyone who has met me will know that I love a flat walk but more recently I have begun hill walking in preparation for the Inca Trail and I surprisingly love it! I am so passionate about OAG and our mission to get more women into the outdoors, safely! Fun fact - I am very scared of spiders.
Hello, I'm Carina! In my experience, most of life's problems can be made better with a walk in the fresh air, with some good company. As I have got older, I appreciate the outdoors even more and I am so passionate about others experiencing the benefits too; mind, body and soul. I found OAG at the most perfect time and over the last 12 months, I have hosted monthly events in the East Midlands. It has been great to meet and share my love for the outdoors with like-minded, adventurous women. I can't wait for my next big adventure with OAG to Iceland later this year! OAG is a great space for women to connect, and I am committed to supporting its mission to encourage women into the outdoors and to be a part of this wonderful group. Fun fact: My favourite animal is a highland cow.
Hi! I'm Janire, I'm a trainee mountain leader based in Shropshire and spend most of my free time getting out into the mountains to practice my skills as I work towards assessment this year! I love the outdoors as it gives me such a sense of freedom and peace and summiting mountains gives me a huge sense of achievement. I recently joined OAG as a host and hope to work towards leading some of the mountain walks once I'm qualified. Fun fact- I am obsessed with working out at the gym and try to go at least 4x a week (I love food too much though so it doesn't show)
Hey, I am Lynda. Growing up in Scotland has given me a passion for the outdoors, despite the rain and the midges! And as long as I can remember I’ve had a particular fascination for the mountains. I get such a buzz from the sheer majesty of them, the physical and mental challenge of getting to the top, whatever the weather, the fresh air, the remoteness and chance to get away from it all, and the sights and sounds of nature on the way. I qualified as a mountain leader a few years ago, and now have the chance to share my passion with others. I also love cycling, outdoor swimming, diving and skiing, basically I’m a bit of a fresh air addict. Over the many years, I’ve not met many women to share the adventures with, so I love that OAG is providing a way for women to get together and embrace the outdoors in a safe and fun environment, with such an amazing range of different activities and locations to choose from. OAG really is helping empower more women into the great outdoors, trying new activities, making new friends and having a whole lot of fun. Travelling is my other passion & I love it so much I choose to spend 6 months of the year travelling the world, while working on a cruise ship. Luckily it still gives me plenty of time to be in the uk, having mountain adventures, and in the meantime I have cabin walls covered in mountain photos to keep me permanently reminded of what’s waiting for me when I get home. FUN FACT- years ago I filmed a tv documentary about my grandmother and the remote Scottish island where she was born
